Handmade Madison: Indie Craft Marketplace was founded in 2011 by Madison’s own Rachel Dolnick. After participating in craft shows throughout Wisconsin, she decided it was time to plan one of her own! Joining her love for community and obsession to create, craft fairs seem to be the perfect place to combine these passions.
Rachel’s jewelry can be found at Absolutely Art, as well as at upcoming Fall shows including the Goodman Center’s Gallery Night and The Crafty Fair.
Joining her this year (and hopefully for many to come) is Jackie Matelski. Jackie has been creating pottery for nearly 10 years! She recently left her job as studio manager ofMidwest Clay Project, a community ceramics studio in Madison, to pursue her career as a full time studio potter.
Her work can be seen in the gallery at Midwest Clay Project, Bloom Bakeshop in Middleton, and Zip-Dang on Monroe street. She will also be very busy this holiday season at shows including Art vs. Craft, Winterglory, and theUrban Garage Sale. A list of shows she has participated in during 2012 can be found on her website, jackiematelski.com.
